MISSION
Project Warbird is an effort to preserve aviation history for generations, to educate the future and to honor the past. We work to restore vintage aircraft and assist other projects with similar efforts. To do this, we search all over the world to find parts and learn from them, looking in every barn, garage, hangar, field, and forest to find bits that may help us in our cause.

ERIC MILLER
Owner
Eric is a native of San Diego, California, having been born and raised just miles from the Consolidated Aircraft plant which built B-24 Liberators in the Second World War. A US Navy veteran, Eric served as a Damage Controlman aboard the frigate Bowen (FF-1079) and aircraft carrier America (CV-66) during Operation DESERT STORM. With an early passion for vintage aviation, volunteering at the San Diego Air & Space Museum as a teenager, Eric transitioned from firefighting to aircraft restoration in civilian life. Project Warbird was officially started in 1998, moving to the Carolinas ten years later. Eric has worked on dozens of warbird and civilian projects, developing a reputation for seeking out parts and ensuring they go to proper homes, and a talent for restoration with an ever vigilant eye for detail.
GERAD BLUME
Historian
Gerad is a historian with a BA from the University of South Carolina Aiken and a MA from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. He attended the PhD program at the University of Southern Mississippi for a period before resigning from the program to return home. In all of these, his area of study was history, his focuses being military, US, and cultural history. The bulk of his professional research has been in military airpower, and in the years since grad school, Gerad has spent a great deal of time uploading his research into an annotated timeline format online.
